FRONTLINE

MAY 2021

Dear ELKS Supporter,

Welcome to Frontline, the monthly Elks National Foundation Fundraising Chair newsletter! Whether you are a new or returning Chair, it's essential to read Frontline every month. In every edition, you'll find resources to help you achieve fundraising success and keep you up to date on the happenings at the ENF, plus opportunities to earn extra credit in the Chair Challenge—coming soon. Your duties are to promote, acquire, renew and recognize—or PARR—and Frontline will help you stay on PARR with your role as an ENFFC! Whenever you see Frontline in your inbox, be sure to get clicking—and reading!

Another great way to stay on PARR is by checking out the ENF's website regularly for updates on ENF events, like the Hoop Shoot National Finals. The 2020 season is finally coming to an end virtually. Read more at the link below.

Keeping Up with the ENF

You can keep up with all things ENF through the ENF’s social media channels, too. The ENF’s channels are full of ready-to-share content to promote the ENF and inspire others to support our programs. Follow the ENF on Facebook and Instagram, where we regularly highlight Lodges and how they’re building stronger communities. Subscribe to the ENF’s YouTube channel, and tap the bell to be notified every time we post new content. We have new episodes of our shows debuting every week. That’s not all—keep up with the ENF on Twitter and the Foundation’s blog, too.

Stay on PARR

Start your year off strong! Get to know the ENF Fundraising Chair Dashboard—your one-stop shop for everything you need to make your year a fundraising success! We’ve added a new snapshot to the top of the page to give you a quick look at your Lodge’s fundraising progress, and you can dive into the Lodge Reports page to get a deeper look at your Lodge’s fundraising, helping you recognize your donors and learn how to acquire new ones. These reports are only available to you as ENF Fundraising Chair of your Lodge, and the information contained within them should be honored through the tenets in the Donor Bill of Rights.

The other quick links include the Forms to Submit Donations, which helps you ensure that your Lodge members are credited for their donations; News to Use, which offers ready-to-use news articles about the ENF for you to share with members of your Lodge; and the Chair Challenge, which details the rubric for this year’s scoring, and also shows how well you’re doing in the ranks. And that is just the top of the Dashboard! The bottom sections help you keep on PARR by focusing on each specific duty.

A Year Like No Other

Last year was unconventional, to say the least. But in a year like no other, Elks stepped up, Zoomed in and came together from a distance to build stronger communities. And thanks to the hard work of ENF Fundraising Chairs, Elks raised nearly $6 million for the ENF during a crisis. Check out the story at the link below. Then, take a look at the New Donor Retention Report to see which Lodge members donated for the first time last year, and make it a goal to renew their support! Check out the History of Donations Report to see everyone in your Lodge who gave last year, and make sure to renew their support, too.

Donations with Dues

Many Elks choose to donate to the ENF when paying their Lodge dues, but we can only recognize these donors when we are notified of their donations. Check with your Lodge’s Secretary to ensure all ENF donations given with dues are properly submitted to the ENF, with the donor list and payment mailed together. A list—or remittance—of donations can easily be created with an Online Remittance through the Fundraising Chair Dashboard or by the Lodge Secretary through the secretary-accessible CLMS2 system. A laminated electronic remittance instruction sheet for both Chairs and Secretaries was included in the ENF packets recently mailed to every Lodge.

Please remember: all remittances submitted electronically must still be printed and mailed with payment to the ENF office, or the remittance batch number must be included on the online donation form if paying via credit card.
